Square Pyramidal Number and Polynomials

The square pyramidal number is the sum of squares of consecutive natural numbers. Below a method of computing square pyramidal number is presented in which operations on polynomials are used. This method can become extended to compute the sum of any integer powers of consecutive natural numbers.
